Field Service Communications, Customer Service Enhanced With METAmessage and BlackBerry Solution at Eurodesign by XSynergy Software Corp.

Solution Will Eliminate Two-Week Paperwork Cycle; Wireless Status Reports Will Enable Better Workflow Management, More Efficient Personnel Deployment; Eurodesign Calculates Fast ROI

SANTA CRUZ, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/02/2004 -- Onset Technology, a leading developer of enterprise access software for wireless handheld devices, announced today that Eurodesign Cabinets, one of the largest cabinet manufacturers and installers in California, has chosen METAmessage® Field Service to provide mobile access to its internal field service and manufacturing applications. Onset's METAmessage Field Service software lets mobile workforce personnel using BlackBerry® handhelds from Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM); (TSX: RIM) update and synchronize work orders, log hours, and otherwise maintain virtually instant, paperless communications with the home office.

"Our biggest challenge was not knowing what was going on in the field, and by the time paperwork was catching up with us, a week or two had gone by," says Eurodesign's VP of Operations Dennis Retherford. "We had piloted several different solutions, but none of them delivered what we needed. Finally, our wireless rep introduced us to the BlackBerry/METAmessage combination. In a simple way, it resolves some of the most complex challenges, in terms of customer service and operational efficiency."

The Eurodesign implementation will let field personnel file wireless status reports which will enable better workflow management of the team by supervisors. With better reporting, field personnel can be deployed to more jobs, maximizing the productivity of the workforce. In addition, field installers' hours will be logged onsite and automatically entered into the payroll system. Customers will gain better information on the status of their jobs, giving Eurodesign an edge in the marketplace.

Retherford conservatively estimated that Eurodesign's return-on-investment for the BlackBerry/METAmessage solution, calculated by assigning a monetary value to every transaction from sending email to payroll entries, will be almost 250%, delivering a savings of nearly $300,000 over two years.

"BlackBerry is widely deployed and popular in a variety of field service organizations because of its ability to deliver a compelling return on investment and a strong competitive edge," said Mark Guibert, Vice President of Corporate Marketing, Research In Motion. "METAmessage builds the BlackBerry platform and provides mobile workers with interactive access to backend databases using customizable forms on the handheld."
